Pre-Christmas activities

Here are just a few pictures that were taken before Christmas to get you up to date, and then the following post is about my fabulous Christmas.

First, the paci. You will see the tip is gone. This was not some trick from Mommy to get rid of my paci, this was done by me. I bit the ends off all five of my pacis. So, Mom decided not to buy me any more. I've come to beg my mommy to reconsider. PLEASE MOMMY! LET ME HAVE MY PACI BACK! I can't promise that I won't just bite the ends off new ones too; in fact, I probably will. But I miss my paci. :( It's made naptime and bedtime a lot harder.
We went to temple square in Salt Lake on Christmas Eve Eve. It was FREEZING! I really liked the horse-drawn carriages outside temple square, but I wasn't really into the lights actually in Temple Square. So, I kept asking to see the "horsees" while we were walking around. This is my cheese face. Isn't it cute?
Needless to say, we didn't stay long. It was COLD, and I just wanted to see the horsees anyway.

Christmas Day!

Daddy was in charge of pictures for Christmas, so there are maybe three total. So here's pretty much all we have...

My favorite present: my Big Girl Bed. Every present after this one had to be put on the bed for future playing. I'm so happy that it's all about princesses!

Santa brought a princess clothes hamper to go with it. Cool, huh?

It took me a few days, but I'm pretty much adjusted to the big girl bed. I had a REALLY hard first nap time, but my spirits were mostly broken by that night. Now I cry a little when Mommy or Daddy leaves me, but I'm fine.

Here's just a little picture of my new pj's. They're Minnie Mouse, and I was SO excited about them. I'm obsessed with all things Mickey right now.

Here's the amazing dinner we had. It seems like a little, but it was WAY too much food for just the three of us. Most of the dinner is the favorites of Mommy's memories... deviled eggs (usually comes with the rest of the relish tray, but for three people, a relish tray is too much), MamaGinger's heavenly chinese oriental salad, ham of course, mashed potatoes, and...
Orange rolls. Yes, orange rolls. This will always be the best roll ever invented. Mom attempted them for the first time, and they were delicious. Not perfect, but delicious.

We spent pretty much the whole day playing with my playdough sets. Daddy's pretty dang good at it, and here's his little snowman that Mommy thought looked pretty awesome.

Mommy is seriously creativity challenged, so she can only really do letters. Here's the name of my little sister that Mom and Dad finally decided, for the time being. Delaney Lindsay Wernli. Laney for short, so we'll be Lexi and Laney. You would think Mom learned her lesson about similar names, being called "Callie" all her life. Oh well. :)

If you don't have anything nice to say about the name, then don't say anything at all. :)

New blog

Here's Mommy and me.

Mom has entered the blogging world. She's way behind the times. Her blog won't be nearly as interesting or full of pictures as mine, but if you're interested, go here. By the way, I just figured out how to do that web link thing. And I'm only two years old!

SNOW, by Lexi this time

I apologize for Mommy's post. She tends to complain this time of year. On the other hand, I LOVE the snow. I can't get enough of it! Yesterday, I asked Mommy if we could go play in the snow, and since she hates the snow, she automatically says yes. Let me explain: She's on a constant guilt trip that she's depriving me of the joys of winter simply because she hates it. So, she says yes, and we go out to play. We did this on Tuesday as well, but yesterday it was windy and maybe twenty degrees colder. Mommy thought I wouldn't want to stay outside for long.

She was wrong.

I loved walking in the snow, and trudging my way through in my boots. I liked making little "seats" in the snow when I sat down, and when I saw the park, I asked Mommy if we could go over there. So, we walked over, and I begged her to put me in the swing. So we swung for a while, and then the only thing that got me away from the park was to go see my friend Andrew.

We walked over and visited, all the while being windy and freezing. Mommy kept asking if I wanted her to carry me so I could be warmer. No way dude! I'm walking my own way in the snow!

Mom doesn't know where I get this gene. Daddy? Except, he went out with us in the snow yesterday and lasted... maybe 5 minutes. Maybe he just didn't have the right clothes...

SNOW

Hello, Cassie here. Lexi's too busy playing with "baby eesee" in her nativity set right now, but I thought I'd post a little something. More of a rant, really.

I HATE snow. Sorry, all you snow fans. I don't think it makes everything look prettier. I don't think that if it's cold, it might as well be snowing. It's wet, cold, annoying, and impossible to drive in. Our condo complex NEVER gets the parking lots plowed. Call me crazy, but I thought that's why I pay $120 a month. So I can at least get out of the flippin complex. And the cities in Utah county apparently don't think it's important to plow either.

Brandon says that growing up in New York, all roads were plowed by about 6am. Maybe earlier. Going to the gym the past two days at 8:30, not even the busy roads are plowed. What is that?! Do plow companies have anything better to do than plow the roads? It thought that's why they existed. Not only are they not plowing, but even by 10am when I leave the gym, they aren't anywhere in sight. It's the first real snow storm of the season, and it's pretty late in the year. You'd think the plow companies would be jumping at the chance to finally plow.

Get it together people! If I were in charge of your company I'd fire you all and get some early-risers!

I'm seven months pregnant, with a huge coat, carrying a toddler with a huge coat. All I ask is that my sidewalks are plowed.

The only things that make this weather nice: 1)I get to keep my groceries in the car until Brandon gets home, and he can lug them up two flights of stairs, and 2)Lexi loves playing in it. We got her all dressed up Tuesday for the snow, and she had a ball. The second I pulled the camera out, the batteries went dead. Nice.

Christmas Tag, by Cassie, not Lexi

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Both

2. Real tree or Artificial? Real, it's what I grew up with, and it makes me sad to think of ever doing a fake tree

3. When do you put up the tree? Since this is the first year that we're going to get a tree, and we haven't gotten it yet, that's a good question.

4. When do you take the tree down? When it dies

5. Do you like eggnog? LOVE it. Jack in the Box has an awesome Egg nog shake. Too bad we don't have any in Utah...

6. Favorite gift received as a child? Hmmm. Sorry, too bad a memory. I'm sure I loved all of them.

7. Hardest person to buy for? My grandmother.

8. Easiest person to buy for? Lexi. Seriously. Toddlers are always easy.

9. Do you h have a nativity scene? I have a small glass one I bought when I was 17, and my mom informs me that the wrapped up presents she gave us are little nativity scenes.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. Apparently email ones are 'tacky'.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Hmmm. Again, no recollection. Sorry. Again, I'm sure I loved all of them. I'm a sucker for surprises.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? It's a Wonderful Life, which I never saw all the way through til last year. I LOVED it.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Depends. I start thinking about it in November.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Nope.

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My mom's cheeseball. The best thing ever invented. And it just feels like Christmas with it.

16. Colored or Clear Lights? Hm. Not really a preference. I always liked blue ones because they felt more cold, and Arizona isn't that cold. It needed all the help it could get.

17. Favorite Christmas song? Religiously, Silent Night. Non-religious, I love anything by the classic singers. Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald... ah, I'm already in a Christmas Coma...

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? This is the first year we're staying home, and we're so excited.

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and vixen, Comet, cupid, donner, blitzen. And Rudolph.

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? I like stars.

21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? One on Christmas eve and the rest on Christmas morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Being in Utah and battling the FREEZING cold weather. I almost makes me cry when it snows for the first time and it sticks to the ground.

23. Favorite ornament theme or color? Red, white and silver

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Ham is so yummy. And I love the relish trays for some reason. And Deviled eggs.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? Ugg slippers. And a day planner. My weekly calendar I had this year will obviously be obsolete on Dec. 31st. That was the best Christmas present from last year, Linda. It saw a lot of use.

26. White or Warm Christmas? WARM, if you couldn't tell already.

27. Favorite thing about Christmas? The food. yum.

28. Favorite Christmas Tradition? Pistachio nuts in the stocking. I hated it as a kid, but I grew to love them each year.

29. Favorite Christmas Location? So far, Arizona. The weather's just too nice.

30. Who do you tag? Hm. Um, Megan Martin, Summer Evans, and Kim Wernli

Calling all addresses, 2008

Oh, my poor neglected blog. I promise to get back to you soon. We had an awesome Thanksgiving in Seattle with my Nani, but of course Mom forgot the camera. Arg! So, I will blog about that later with some interpretive pictures or something.

But for now, I need addresses to send Christmas cards to. Mom saved all the addresses from last year, so if you emailed your address last year and you haven't moved, then you're already on the list. But if you're new to my pretty blog, I will need your physical address to send a card to, if you want one.

Just email Mom at cassmaster@gmail.com, and she'll send you a card. Thanks!
